Déjà danseuse, Nancy commence le Bharata-Natyam en France avec Kalpana, puis part en Inde en 2000 approfondir cet art avec celui qui allait devenir son maître : Kalaimamani Kuttalam M. Selvam. Descendant d'une famille de nattuvanar par sa mère, et fils du maître V.S. Muthuswamy Pillai, M. Selvam transmet une tradition ancestrale en adoptant le modèle d'enseignement de son père et en s'inspirant de sa façon de chorégraphier. Les danses qui sont transmises à Nancy sont chorégraphiées pour elle par son maître. Le récital est le fruit de longues années d'apprentissage et de complicité. Cette association nous questionne sur la marge de créativité possible dans la transmission d'un art traditionnel et sur l'inter culturalité.
